  • Notes
    • According to Sue and Dan Little, the ashes of both John Denis "Jack" Pamment and wife Madeleine were scattered together in the Kapatia creek in an area at the back of Kumara called the Kapatia where they first met. As to the first meeting of John Denis Pamment and Madeleine Peebles Brown- apparently she was the schoolteacher in Kumara and went horseriding in the Kapitea Creek area and it was there that she and John Denis met . The romantic part was that all those years later , the stream where they met was where they asked for their ashes to be scattered.
