"Angelo Simeonidis was introduced as having been approached to act as Referee in Chief for SWGHL. He requested a job description and will accept if he feels he can complete the requirements to his and our satisfaction.

Angelo has been involved in hockey since 1958, officiating boys hockey since 1965, and girls hockey since 1973. He is currently in his 5th year as an OWHA Supervisor of Officials, and has created an association for officials serving 5 OWHA Hockey Associations in the greater Hamilton (Ontario) area, with over 40 OWHA officials.

Secretary's note: After Angelo left the meeting, everyone agreed that Angelo would be a very valuable asset to our group and he will be asked once again to agree to stand as Referee in Chief. It was agreed that he would be compensated for any travel required for "auditing" games at a rate of $0.30/km."

Obituary

Bernard H. Coll

Bernard H. (Red) Coll, 80, of Interlachen, passed away on May 4, 2002 at his home.

He was born in Fowlerville, Mich., the son of Charles H. and Agnes Devin Coll. He attended school in Fowlerville until joining the United States Coast Guard, serving in World War II. He later acquired his GED. He was a member of Teamsters Local 299 in Detroit where he worked in the trucking industry. While living in New Hampshire for 7 years, he was a supervisor for Asplundh Tree Service. In 1982, Red moved to Florida, coming from Fenton, and went to work as a dispatcher for O'Steen Brothers of Gainesville until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lorraine Charles Coll.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Ruth Stevens Coll of Interlachen; daughter, Karen R. Schafer and husband, Stephen, Howell, Mich.; son, Kenneth E. Coll and wife, Karla, Monroe, MI; brothers, Kenneth L. Coll and Gordon Coll of Fowlerville, Mich.; sisters, Virginia Macut, Okemos and Doris Schmid of Webberville, Mich.; sister-in-law, Sandra Haas, Ann Arbor, Mich.; grandchildren, Shannon Schafer, Heidi Dietz and husband, Andy, Christian Schafer and wife, Christy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service was held at Dillingham Liverance Niblock Funeral Home in Fowlerville, Mich., on Saturday, May 11, 2002 with Elder Charles Moore as officiant. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors were provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 6464 of Fowlerville and the United States Coast Guard.
Watts Funeral Home, San Mateo, was in charge of the local arrangements.
