Christopher Lutes (1821-1885) headstone
Christopher Lutes (1821-1885) headstone
This is the headstone of my 2x maternal grandfather Christopher Lutes.

Inscription reads: CHRISTOPHER LUTES Died Feby 2, 1885 Aged 63 years, 8 mos, & 28 days Gone From Our Home But Not From Our Hearts NOTE: This headstone was indexed at Find A Grave as Christopher Lutes, 1772-1835. When I contacted Find A Grave to submit a correction (that birth year would be 1771 if you calculated based upon age on headstone) I was informed that the death year of 1835 was INCORRECT and that it was 1885 (the headstone has dirt/damage on the "8" in 1885 making it appear to be a "3.") Additionally they informed me that the death record on Ancestry.com was incorrectly transcribed as Christopher Suter and matched to the death date of Feb. 2, 1885.
